- NGUNI COWHIDE RUGS
Our hides are of an extremely high quality with a glossy, luxurious pile. Their colourings and markings are unique as they’ve been bred over centuries for their symmetry and beauty, by the Zulus for shields, clothing and home rugs.
Each hide is sustainably sourced from natural grasslands (veld) and is a by-product. The tanning process is carefully monitored; any chemicals used are recycled.
Approximate sizes: smaller hides: 180 x 150cm to whopping 2m x 2m rugs.
Available as Bi-colour – a two colour hide, or Tri-colour – a three colour hide
They are robust and easy to clean (if dirtied by muddy human or animal paws!) You can vacuum or brush them. Soak up any spills with a paper towel/cloth and wipe with a damp cloth and/or warm soapy water. As the hair is a hollow fibre it does not absorb dirt.
