Since 1993 African Bikers Tours is a specialist for cycling hiking and adventure holidays in South Africa, Uganda, Namibia, Swaziland, Madagascar and Botswana.

After a journey of one year’s duration cycling through Africa, the diversity of the country lying at the tip of the African continent, viz. South Africa, remained unforgettable and deeply etched in our minds, Jens and Andreas, the co-founders of African Bikers CC in We research all routes ourselves and update them regularly, taking the opinions of our tour guides and guests into consideration. We guide the majority of the tours ourselves and ensure that the quality of the routes and the standard of accommodation are constantly maintained. We personally travel around southern Africa in order to assess new routes and destinations for our programmes, if and when time is available to do so. Mavis Mbaba, 65 years young and still a very motivated principal and founder of Noluthando even used money out of her retirement fund to help finish the last classroom. David, our versatile handyman from Mitchells Plain, always delivers high quality work. To winter proof the last house we still need support of about 29.000 Rand (2.900 USD ) to do the following: Varnish outside walls of classrooms. The main objective in coordination with Mavis Mbaba is to maintain and upgrade the centre. In the past we built classrooms, we organized construction work through local workers to create a child friendly surrounding. Over the past 16 years and with the generous donations of our guests we were able to spend over 1.100.000 Rand (110.000 USD ) to build the following: 8 class and play rooms. Well shaft with feed pump for watering the garden as well as flushing the toilets. We also needed to provide a separate room for nappy changing and playing. With the generous donations of our guests we were able to build an interior wall, a window, install lights as well as running water and a nappy changing station. Additionally the money was used to renovate a back wall of one of the houses. May: The new house was used but still missed electricity, paint and a sub ceiling with insolation. We also renovated a front and a side outside wall as well as an inside wall which had been damaged due to heavy rain. The class room was extended, received new cement floor with a thick linoleum layer, electricity and insolation of walls and the ceiling. We had the generous help of Lizl, manager of the Toys R Us store in Canal Walk. Most of the kids received presents for the very first time and a few of them didn’t know how to unwrap a present why they started crying due to their insecurity. Another very emotional moment was the questions the kids asked their teachers about the presents and if the gifts were really for them. Unfortunately most of the kids don’t have a single toy at home.
