In 2011 Neil, Jo and Trevor’s son, joined African Praise to manage the day to day operation of the business.
This led to the birth of African Praise in 2003.
In that we and our suppliers adhere to all the labour laws and other conditions pertinent to employing people in this country.

Jo and her late husband Trevor Tyers were both born in Cape Town. Their families have lived in South Africa since the 1880s. When they were married in 1967, Jo was a teacher and Trevor a business man, but God had other plans. After serving in parish and school ministries happily for a number of years Trevor and Jo explored new opportunities to serve the Christian Church. Since then the enterprise has grown rapidly particularly in Southern Africa and the UK. In 2011 Neil, Jo and Trevor’s son, joined African Praise to manage the day to day operation of the business. We believe that in our business we need to be socially and morally responsible. The majority of people employed by us and our suppliers are women. We try to make sure that the work we create is and remains sustainable even as our business grows. We supply individuals and distributors throughout Southern Africa and have a rapidly growing clientèle worldwide. African Praise has exhibited at the Christian Resources Exhibition in England since 2004 and we have many satisfied customers in the UK. We are a Christian business where all are welcome and we enjoy meeting people from many different churches and places. Our embroidery machines are supervised by Estelle Manus who has years of experience and takes great pride in maintaining our high standards. African Praise shirts have been developed in conjunction with the factory that makes them. African Praise specialises in embroidered vestments and all the designs have been developed by African Praise for our specific and exclusive use. We can design and create personalised embroidery for clients. For costing purposes our embroidery designs are divided into categories according to the stitch count and thread type used. The designs range from Traditional through to African Ethnic. From time to time we add to our library of designs. African Praise vestments stand apart from others, with our use of lightweight fabrics in the four liturgical colours with varying symbolic themes. We make to order and design our vestments according to our customer’s needs. Customers choose the vestment, the colour and the design and we put it together for them. Our seamstresses and all in the production process take personal pride in the quality of the African Praise vestments and garments that they produce. African Praise shirts have proven themselves over the years. We have devoted wearers around the globe who await our new designs. African Praise shirt fabrics are of high quality and come in a large variety of plain colours and patterns. Clerical shirts are supplied with a flexible white collar insert. No matter what colour or fabric, our shirts are designed to fit comfortably, and last. We can also custom make shirts for you, or your church. African Praise Garments and Robes are designed with Africa in mind. They are made from lightweight fabrics and are not lined. We have a large range of garments and robes but can tailor make if we have a sample or pattern of the design you want. All our altar furnishings and linen conform to our high standards. We can make anything you require, with custom embroidery if desired.
