He has recieved masterclasses from international pianists such as Graham Johnson, Martino Tirimo. His international appearances include Singapore, Berlin, Munich and Leipzig’s prestigious Gewandhaus. Albert also studied the French Horn and singing at Natal University under Angelica Novak and Colleen Philp and took part in SAMRO’s week-long masterclasses with the late tenor Deon van der Walt. Since then he has performed regularly at major centers throughout the country. He performs as soloist, accompanist and chamber musician, in both classical and popular music fields. As member of the Cape Town Tango Ensemble he has performed at all the major festivals in the country, with performers such as Mark Hoeben and Ina Wichterich. As concert organiser and accompanist he has worked with a number of South African and international singers, including Prof. Virginia Davids, Pretty Yende, Marita Napier, Sibongile Mngema, Hans van Heerden and Virgina Oosthuizen, to name only a few. Highlights with international artists include a concert tour with American soprano Judith Kellock of South African and American Contemporary Art Song. He was also pianist for he great tenor Neil Shicoff on his tour to South Africa in Cape Town Tango Ensemble have released demo tracks from their new CD Tango Club. It is a rare opportunity to see the ensemble in concert where they are able to give full focus to the music. Amelia is the Concert Master of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong. And since he suffered from a blood cancer, the Sunflower Fund had become a cause very close to the couple’s heart. Violinist Amelia Chan’s performances have taken her around the globe. She was formerly concertmaster of the West Virginia Symphony, and has performed extensively with the New York Philharmonic. She has recently collaborated with legendary flautist Sir James Galway as a soloist, and with the French accordionist extraordinaire Richard Galliano in chamber music. The Sunflower Fund creates awareness around the need for blood stem cell donors and provides education as to the process of registering as a donor. CT Tango Ensemble will be performing live at this fabulous venue for the pleasure of those of you who love listening to live Tango music and those of you who love dancing to Tango music.
