Anchor’s Nelspruit branch opens and its Durban branch moves to larger premises. Anglo Lifting becomes a valuable addition to Anchor Industries by acquisition of majority shares in the business. Anchor’s training centre in Cape Town becomes a certified and registered training facility with merSETA. Anchor Industries is re-structured into a majority black owned entity with the assistance of Matasis Investments and AIST. Anchor Industries is re-structured into a Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) entity with the assistance of OMAM and AIST. The South African Oil and Gas Alliance ( SAOGA ) is founded with Anchor Industries as one of its founding members. Anchor receives its first international order for equipment rental. Anchor receives its first international order for inspection services. In 2007, Anchor Industries received an Award for Transformation from the South African Oil and Gas Alliance (SAOGA) for the company’s commitment to its staff and B-BBEE. For Anchor Industries’ shareholders’, commitment to transformation is an imperative business decision as well as a moral obligation to empower staff and management. Anchor Industries’ shareholding consists of Anchor Industries management owning 30%, Anchor Industries B-BBEE Staff Trust, holding 15% of the company’s equity in the form of a Staff Investment Trust and Matasis Investment Holdings owning 55%.
