Charity: Our Charity: Douglas Murray Home for the Aged Douglas Murray Home for the Aged (DMH) has been providing quality residential care for the frail and elderly residents at the home for more than 40 years. DMH is an independent non-profit organization with its own board of governors. It draws most of its revenue from the board and lodging fee charged to clients and from the frail care subsidy received from the Department of Social Development. In addition the organization also raises funds through regular appeals to donor agencies and charitable trusts, and to benevolent organizations and individuals. However, the depressed state of the economy has had a devastating effect on the fundraising climate in the country with many organizations cutting back on their social spend. In addition many of the current residents at the home come from very poor backgrounds and are unable to afford to pay the full board and lodging fee of R3505 per month. This has had a severe and negative impact of the operations budget of DMH and its ability to sustain its frail care programme. We prepare and pack your food, ready to serve or re-heat when you need it. Canape’s, finger food and sandwiches are ideal for informal meals where there is little to no seating available. The Business of Catering prides itself on efficient punctual deliveries. We strive to deliver and lay out our food with the least disruption to you and your premises. Cook the food, deliver it on time at the correct temperature, set it out ready to serve and leave you to carry on with the business of the day. We’ll collect our equipment at a time convenient for you. To complement our delicious food, we can provide professional staff to serve you and your guests or colleagues. If you have more important things to do than pour cups of coffee, why not let our experienced team take care of setting up the service area, maintaining it and clearing up after service. Finger foods and sandwiches are delivered garnished and ready to serve on our acrylic platters and Plate/buffet food is delivered in appropriate service-ware. Please let us know if you require hot trays or chafing dishes to heat the food.
