With his background in antique furniture restoration, Grant appreciated the fine craftsmanship that we, at Cabinetworks, have made our forte, and he quickly grew from an employee into a passionate and involved co-owner. He believes that the soul of the sea is echoed in the symmetry, calm, and balance that Cabinetworks strives for in its furniture and design. Since joining us in 2011, Warren has introduced his fresh and innovative style to Cabinetworks, and has also been inspired by our existing Scandinavian-Asian design ethos. Photography is the creative outlet that gets him outdoors where he spends days hunting for unique and satisfying ways of visually reflecting the natural world. Back in the showroom Warren is equally content in the company of his colleagues and clients, his relaxed and patient temperament making him the ideal personality to manage our showroom, just one of the many roles in his lengthy job description! Colin joined us mid 2011 after Andy had hunted him down and convinced him to take a break from running his own business to join us. This effort on Andy’s part proved to be very well spent, as Colin brought with him a wealth of creativity and inspiration. When Colin is not in our workshop designing and crafting beautiful furniture, or onsite ensuring seamless, enduring installation standards, he is in his own workshop where he produces, amongst other things, hand-crafted guitars. His guitars, like all the pieces of furniture and jewellery he crafts, are bespoke art pieces, and when one is made to order it reflects the personality of the person for whom it is being made. Colin's deeply authentic design ethic fits perfectly with our vision at Cabinetworks to make useful and beautiful objects, imbued with the heart and soul of the craftsman, that stand the test of time. Born to a family of carpenters and designers, Daniel is himself a highly skilled designer and master carpenter and has brought with him a wealth of insight into European design and manufacturing techniques. Working for his family business back in Germany, Daniel gained plenty of design and manufacture experience before leaving school, but rather than diving straight into his studies of design and master carpentry, he chose to spend seven years working hard at his career in professional road cycling. Starting at the tender age of fourteen, Daniel trained for an average of seven hours a day and rose to the top of his field by age twenty. He still spends a respectable amount of time on his road and mountain bike dreaming up new design concepts and simply enjoying being on his treasured bicycles in the hills. Ineke believes that materials are imbued with the power to tell a story, evoke the imagination, and affect the design’s visual, tactile and emotional value. She is interested in the engagement of the body, mind and imagination through the sensory experience of architecture and design. Her vision for her future at Cabinetworks is characterised by the key contributions she intends to make to the creation of unique and meaningful designs which will leave our clients smiling for years to come. Billy is the latest craftsman to join our team and has been a valued member of the family since July He has thrived in our workshop where his enthusiasm fuels his devotion to every new project. He finds meaning and fulfilment in the process of making furniture, the process of which he believes tells a unique story each time. He aspires to succeed both as an individual and as a team member through his steadfast commitment to delivering superior quality furniture. Life for Billy is not all about work and he loves being outdoors.
