With wireless Internet access in the bedrooms and lounge area and an always-on Internet facility for guests. Our facilitators are young, experienced and inspirational human beings. They are placed in a school where their role is to introduce and maintain our holistic and experiential education programme. Currently, South African society is full of disharmony and faces many social challenges. Deep rooted, sustainable change can only be achieved by addressing all levels of the situation. To start truly educating our children, the education should be holistic and experiential. The academic curriculum should be complimented with practical skills which can be applied at school and integrated for life. The Earthchild Project places full time facilitators in schools, whose role is to introduce and maintain projects which facilitate holistic and experiential education. Form meaningful relationships with the educators, learners and parents. knowledge of the system, children and community to create tailor-made projects which will most benefit the specific school. The Earthchild Facilitators will conduct classroom lessons which will be complimented by practical experience outside the classroom, partnering NGO involvement, extra mural activities and school campaigns. To give youth the responsibility of co-creating their realities. To build the individual and instil a sense of self awareness and self worth. Our Program will aim to instil these four values in all that we do. Facilitator sets up a school Garden Club comprised of learners, a teacher and a parent. Paper, plastic, glass and tins are collected at home and at school. Learners are taught about healthy living and eating habits. There will be a small team of dedicated people who will run the Earthchild Project. They will build and maintain relationships with the facilitators, schools, partnering organizations and funders, and be the central point bringing them together. One of the most important roles of this central Earthchild team will be to identify and train new facilitators and to manage and support existing facilitators. Not only will facilitators attend courses and workshops given by the partnering organizations but they will also be trained in areas such as leadership, facilitation and counselling. Each facilitator will be supported in their own personal growth and in their role as an Earthchild facilitator. All schools could become institutions of holistic education, supporting and nurturing children and communities.
