Cape Medical Aesthetics Centre (CapeMAC) is part of the professional medical practice of Dr D H Bagwandeen, based in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa. The Practice also provides medical services to the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and has been doing so since Dr Manoj Bagwandeen, who is the Director and Principal Clinician at CapeMac, has been a Medical Practitioner since 1994 and has a special interest in Medical Aesthetic Procedures. We have invested in state-of-the-art products and equipment which allows us to perform quick, relatively safe and very cost effective procedures able to treat unsightly skin conditions, wrinkles, facial asymmetries, excessive sweating, hair loss, body disproportions and weight problems. The relatively short and gentle treatment sessions, which are performed at the consulting rooms or in a theatre, allow you to go right back to work with minimal, or even no down-time. Patients look and feel great without spending vast amounts of money; having to take large amounts of time off work nor endure the risks of major surgery. All the treatments and procedures are done by qualified and experienced personnel in a fully equipped and comfortable medical facility. We are not driven by commercial pressures to prescribe or sell unwarranted treatments or products and you can be assured that at CapeMAC you will not be pressurised into buying services or products that are of questionable benefit to the condition/s being treated. Dr Bagwandeen practiced as a General Practitioner in Durban (1995 to 1999) before joining the University of the Western Cape as the Head of Campus Health Services and later, as Director of Dr DH Bagwandeen and Associates Incorporated, a private company, which now provides medical services to the University. Having always had a keen interest in the aesthetic aspects of medicine, Dr Bagwandeen decided to formally pursue this interest since He has since attended numerous specialised courses and conferences in medical aesthetics and has successfully completed the internationally recognised courses in aesthetic medicine offered by The American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). Given that modern medicine is rapidly evolving, and medical aesthetic procedures even more so, Dr Manoj Bagwandeen seeks to keep abreast of the latest and most effective treatment modalities in this exciting field by constantly expanding his already vast experience through ongoing studies and attending relevant courses throughout the world. This is the only formally registered post-graduate course in Aesthetic Medicine offered in South Africa. Hair restoration and surgical hair transplantation procedures is another field within Aesthetic Medicine that is in big demand. Dr Bagwandeen is trained in the use of the Medicamat Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) system of hair transplantation and he is also a certified trainer in this procedure. Dr Bagwandeen is a qualified General Practitioner with a special interest in Aesthetic Medicine.
