This mobile unit operates on a permanent basis from venues such as major shopping centres, community halls, universities and colleges. We also operate a 20-seater online mobile unit that offers free internet access to our and our partners websites. and much more.

To link people with training and career-related opportunities by providing up-to-date career and skills development information with a strong focus on scarce skills and sustainable self-employment. Youth unemployment is one of the most pressing socio-economic problems in South Africa today, with high rates of unemployment linked to poverty, crime, social degradation and loss of morale. Young South Africans are desperate for education and work-related opportunities, but struggle to locate this vital information. If they do, it’s often irrelevant, out of date or out of financial reach. Internet cafés and transport are often luxuries and therefore barriers to accessing information. Career Planet is an award-winning Section 21 (not-for-profit) organisation that has been providing young people with career training and study information since 2009 through our website and workshops. Career Planet uses innovative job-matching technology and mobile-learning tools to offer practical advice to youth unable to attend traditional classroom learning environments. Our resources are generated through career and training related advertising on our website and on mobile kiosks to provide FREE services to schools and communities. Career Planet's mobile kiosks travel to rural and urban schools and communities for 4-5 days per visit where our online services are available, free of charge, to whoever needs them. Career Planet funding is derived from a combination of advertising revenue and project sponsorship. The building of our first mobile kiosk was funded by seda and the DTI. Advertisers and supporters are promoted with a logo or banner on the Career Planet website.
