What you should know about Carrick Wealth
Carrick Wealth are leaders in wealth and capital management. Above all else, service to clients is our raison d’être. We offer independent financial advice to a diverse range of highly successful individuals, and a comprehensive spectrum of the finest financial solutions through well-respected international financial institutions.
The Financial Services Industry is highly regulated globally and under constant scrutiny. For Carrick, the decision as to where we are based and therefore regulated was carefully considered and based on a number of different factors. Mauritius is highly regarded in the international investment sector. These licensing provisions ensure our clients are completely protected from a regulatory perspective for the advice we give internationally. Any underlying investments could also be sited in these jurisdictions or additionally with any major investment bank, anywhere in the world. Mike Preston is a highly experienced Independent Financial Adviser with over 35 years’ experience. He was educated in North Wales and Scotland, and his UK family home is in Buckinghamshire. He has, over many years, provided full-spectrum financial advice to clients at all levels, including ultra-high-net-worth individuals. After nearly 30 years based in London, he has been advising clients overseas for the past six years, while based, variously, in South Africa, in Africa and, more recently, in Mauritius. Based now in Mauritius, Mike is licensed by the Board of Investment to give advice globally. He also has an International Certificate in Wealth and Investment Management, and Introduction to Securities and Investments from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI). Before joining Carrick in 2014, David worked in a number of roles in the financial services industry, moving from Financial Adviser to Project Accountant and Foreign Exchange Broker. Having played for the Golden Lions U19, David is a keen sportsman, and enjoys watching sports and movies in his down time, as well as cooking up a delicious storm in his kitchen. Born in Durban, and educated at Maritzburg College, Jarryd completed his tertiary education at Varsity College with qualifications in Financial Management and Planning. Having known from an early age that a financial services career would be in his future, Jarryd joined the Carrick Durban office for two years as an Assistant Associate, gaining experience in his chosen field, and developing his communication skills. A keen sportsman and a competitive one at that, Jarryd has played a number of sports at provincial level and has played Polocrosse as part of the national team. Through his years with Carrick, Chad has gained a wealth of knowledge in the financial advisory space and uses his experience to work with his clients in achieving their long-term financial objectives. He is currently enrolled with CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment) to further his studies in the industry. Chad enjoys keeping fit, being healthy, and watching and playing sports. In his free time, he can either be found on the golf course, or fishing, yachting and taking part in water sports, in his capacity as a qualified skipper. Following the successful completion of the project, Leith was offered the role of Financial Associate, and today works as a Financial Adviser in the Mauritian office. Continually looking for ways to grow his knowledge and expertise, Leith is currently upskilling himself through the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI), where he is working towards his Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification. Through his work with Carrick Wealth, and with various charities and community initiatives, Leith continues to explore his passion for financial services, and for giving back to those less fortunate. When not lending a hand in hospitals and veterinary surgeries, Leith can be found walking the fairways of golf courses, deep sea fishing, putting together plans for his own wildlife organisation, and hiking the trails of nature reserves.
