Chabad of Cape Town is a vibrant Jewish community centre. It is part of a world- wide network of non- profit educational and social welfare institutions dedicated to the vision of the Lubavitcher Rebbe- the making of this world into a better place; through increasing awareness of moral and spiritual values. The Chabad centre situated in Sea Point was founded in 1982 and subsequently moved location following a devastating fire in 1992, establishing its new premises at 20 St. Johns Rd Sea Point. Today it is the hub of activity, educating both young and old guiding people to strengthen their Jewish identity through camps, conventions, educational classes, prayer groups, community services, prevention and intervention counselling, hospital and sick visitation programmes etc. Our motto is the care and concern with each and every Jew sensitising. them to their heritage.
