They went to separate high schools and their paths grew apart, but they remained friends. In 2009 they started an online deli delivering the very best locally-produced non-perishable food products all over South Africa. In 2011 the opportunity arose that would see their business evolve into what Diletto is today. They scrapped the online deli (which was too far ahead of its time) and created a niche non-perishable food distribution service with a very strong emphasis on customer support and satisfaction. The company started in a basement in Oranjezicht, Cape Town, then moved to a tiny warehouse in Paarden Eiland and now spans two large warehouses in Montague Gardens. Having started with Francis as the only employee, Diletto now employs 20 full-time staff in Cape Town, four sales reps in Gauteng and has six agents working in Namibia. Want to treat your loved one to a super cute dessert just for the two of you? Celebrate the flavours of autumn and warm up on cool days with this Orange Cake with Ginger and Dark Chocolate Icing. Khulu Soap is an original & authentic manufacturer of soaps infused with traditional African herbs and was the first to launch this type of product in South Africa. All herbs used are from traditional healers and suppliers, with the guarantee that they do not destroy or endanger the delicate ecosystem of indigenous trees and plants. Our soaps are only made with natural ingredients and boxed in recycled paper. Pronto Mama is a range of slow-roasted cherry tomatoes, meze treats and condiments which makes every meal a lip-smackingly good affair. We believe in only the very best quality ingredients and all our products are meticulously tried and tested before they are bottled under the Pronto Mama name. How it all began Pronto Mama comes from the always-bubbling stovetop and brain of food lover Heather Ryan. Rummaging through her messy folder of recipes, she happened upon one of her earlier creations: a slow-roasted cherry tomato sauce that packs a real flavour punch. After getting the thumbs up from friends, family, colleagues and spaniel Duke, she launched the range at the Bienne Donne Cheese Festival in 2010, selling out on day three of the four-day food fair.
