Williston is situated on the beds of the Zak River, a seasonal river where unique riverbed irrigation is practiced, similar to that at the Nile River in Egypt. Relax in the garden, have meeting, get together with friends. Whilst Wilderness is the convenient area for exploring the Garden Route, it offers a rich diversity of attractions. Within the village are coffee shops, bistros and restaurants. It provides wonderful views of Wilderness and the surrounding country: farmlands; mountains, lakes, forest valleys, coastal plain, coastline and ocean. Vryburg offers a comprehensive selection of facilities which ranges from camping, self catering as well as luxury accommodation. Vrede is a scenic little town with an imposing sandstone church. Vosburg is an ideal stop-over on route to the West Coast or Cape Town from Gauteng. Virginia is surrounded by some of the largest gold fields in Free State, and mining, gold-extraction plants, and the manufacture of sulfuric acid from gold ore dominate its economy.
