Earthphotos, Mark and Sophia van Coller, a company started by husband and wife team, aims to promote the preservation of our earth. Sophia, having worked as a press photographer for the past three years, gives our photos a journalistic edge and a unique perspective on the interaction between man and nature. We capture images that portray the natural beauty, but also sometimes the sad state that the earth is in. We both specialize in underwater photography for the past 9 years.

We hope to highlight the areas that are in desperate need of attention and bring them to the public eye. Working for ourselves, we are flexible to take on assignments across the globe. However being based in Cape Town, South Africa, the African Continent and coastline is especially important to us. We capture images that portray the natural beauty, but also sometimes the sad state that the earth is in. We both specialize in underwater photography for the past 9 years. Sophia, having worked as a press photographer for the past three years, gives our photos a journalistic edge and a unique perspective on the interaction between man and nature. We started Earthphotos because of our immense love and concern for the world around us. Mark studied at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Montana, USA. He has also attended several Freeman Patterson Workshops over the years in Namaqualand. He has received two Highly Commended awards from the Fujifilm Photographic Awards, and also one Highly Commended from Nature’s Best International Magazine. Along with his photography, he also does digital large format printing for the past four years. He is a highly skilled underwater photographer, having worked on the multimedia CD, Scuba Sodwana. On that project he photographed over 200 fish species and numerous invertebrates for identification purposes. Sophia did a four year diploma in Fine Art at the Foundation School of Art in Cape Town. She is a qualified dive instructor, boat skipper and underwater photography instructor, having worked as photo pro in Grand Cayman at the School of Underwater Photography as well as the Bahamas. Before starting their company, she worked for three years as a fulltime Press Photographer for Independent Newspapers in Cape Town.
