Cape-based specialist fund manager, Frater Asset Management, is to change its name to Element Investment Managers from 1 August 2009.

Element Investment Managers is an independent, owner-managed company established in Element Unit Trusts offers the investor a choice of unit trusts. The objective of these unit trusts is to maximise long-term, real absolute returns, while reducing downside risk through active management. Terence joined Element Investment Managers in 2001 and was appointed as a Director and Chief Investment Officer. Prior to joining Element Investment Managers, Terence qualified as a CA (SA) after completing his articles with Ernst & Young and then worked at Allan Gray Ltd as an equity analyst and portfolio manager after which he became a director of Taita, a private equity firm. Terence has been responsible for developing and documenting Element Investment Managers investment philosophy and investment process (including the incorporation of Responsible Investment principles as an integral part of this process) and growing the investment team since joining the firm in Standard Bank Scholarship, Entrance Merit Scholarship, was on the Dean's Merit List and was awarded the class medals for Applied Business Statistics II and for Business Finance II (his Business Science special field). Jeleze joined Element Investment Managers in 2010 as an investment analyst and was appointed as a portfolio manager in He previously worked at Sanlam from 2009, initially joining as an Investment Analyst before being appointed a Portfolio Manager. Prior to this, he worked as an Investment Analyst at Cazenove/JP Morgan South Africa, HSBC and BJM, where he was a consistently highly rated analyst in the Financial Mail Analysts Survey. Andrew joined Element Investment Managers in 2008 as an Investment Analyst, focusing on equities. He was appointed as a portfolio manager in 2017 and shares joint responsibility for managing the equity portfolios. He has a Bachelor of Business Science (Honours) from the University of Cape Town and is a CFA charter holder. Mareldia's role is that of providing Unit Trust Administration and Client Service to our retail clients. In 2003, she was appointed as the Financial Manager for Element.
