Ferryman's Tavern, which opened in 1989, was the first tenant in the Waterfront. The large feature window has splendid views of Table Mountain. The upstairs non-smoking restaurant with its wooden tables and bentwood chairs add a touch of old fashioned charm. It has established, over the years, a loyal following of regulars, both from Cape Town and further afield.
The old fashioned bar, brick-paved floor and stone fireplace enhance the character of the establishment to create a superb pub atmosphere.
The two sheds constructed of quarried bluestone, Oregon beams and solid teak pillars were converted with great care to ensure that Ferryman's retained many of the features of the original buildings.
The atmosphere is further enhanced by exposed stone walls, and an interesting collection of old prints and photographs of Cape Town and the harbour in days gone by. The beer garden provides plenty of additional seating, and large awnings ensure that it is shady in summer and sheltered.

Ferryman's is proud to be able to offer a wide variety of beers from all over the world, including a comprehensive selection of local handcrafted brews. The tavern even has its own unique Ferryman's Ale which is brewed exclusively for the pub. Our upstairs restaurant can seat up to 120 people around the cozy fireplace with availability for live entertainment with great sound and big screen. Ferrymans has an outside beer garden with kiddies play area, TV screen for the sports fanatics, live music every evening, featuring local bands.
