Fishgate is a through-the-line advertising agency situated near Bellville in the northern suburbs of Cape Town. We facilitate brand development by conceptualising creative ideas in areas such as advertising, design, marketing, copywriting and web development to align brand communication. We have conceptualised work for clients in both local and global markets, from internationally recognised artists to businesses in the corporate environment. Fishgate’s current client base includes the education sector, automotive industry, retail and various NGOs. The growing social media market allows us to create digital marketing and advertising campaigns, stretching a brand’s potential to a digital audience. This means that we have immediate access to a more integrated advertising agency with the benefit of a shared creative think tank, providing you with better execution, cost effectiveness and efficiency. The brief was simply to create something that the Trust could use at events to encourage more donations. Throughout his artistic career, Fishgate has put together a few catalogues and built a website for him. Fragments, published in 2016, features a compilation of his best work and behind-the-scene exhibition pictures held throughout South Africa. They required a campaign to run during Blood Donor Month in June this year, and Fishgate was all too happy to conceptualise something for our new client. The Frutea brand is manufactured under Brothers Beverages in Somerset West, Cape Town. With the expansion of their product range in 2014, we designed new product labels for them and refreshed some existing ones. To showcase this heritage and the programmes they offer to potential students and the industry, we recently designed, built and launched a new website for the Academy. The project entailed developing a competition that would introduce one of their product ranges, Rooibos Frutea, to patrons in Melissa’s Food Shops around the Western Cape. So when Boland College briefed in their new programme prospectus, we jumped at the opportunity to come up with something more than just a straightforward information booklet.
