Frankwood carpentry & joinery was established in 2008. It is led by Frank Carpenter who is a Furniture and interior designer . Before establishing Frankwood carpentry & joinery Frank worked for several contemporary furniture design and manufacturing companies in Capetown and building companies in the Westerncape.
Every craftsman at Frankwood carpentry & joinery are CRB checked, have received asbestos awareness training and have a valid CSCS card allowing them to work in schools, hospitals and or construction sites. They have full public liability insurance and are proud members of Business Network International.
Their clients normally require a bespoke furniture or joinery solution for specific rooms or environments. This has included libraries, reception desks, boardroom tables, home offices, office desks, bespoke audio visual furniture, fitted alcoves, walk-in wardrobes, screens, wall to wall joinery, cabinets of all shapes and sizes, fitted dressers and much more.

Our involvement in a project generally starts at the design stage, either providing concepts or with the detailed plans being supplied, allowing us to progress straight to the workshop. Our central aim is to provide an accurate and efficient service that allows the client to relax in the knowledge that we will bring high quality hand crafted furniture and bespoke joinery to realisation on time, on budget and with great attention to detail.
We provide a complete design, manufacture and installation service. We are of course happy to work alongside your appointed Architect or Interior Designer, or we can include this service.

Residential /domestic
We offer a full design, manufacture and installation service for furniture and joinery. We use our own workshops to manufacture your requirements overseeing the project from concept through design and manufacture to installation. This process eliminates any misinterpretation of your wishes and ensures high standards and rigorous quality control.

the whole experience as enjoyable as we can, keeping you informed of progress throughout your project. Our clients describe us as approachable and professional and the majority of our work is through personal recommendation.

With over 10 years of knowledge in the design and manufacture of furniture and joinery, we have the experience to provide you with a ballpark figure, allowing you to see if a tailor made solution is right for you. However, if you know what you require and can provide an image or drawings, we will provide you with a more accurate estimation of the costs. We may need to make an appointment for a site survey to resolve small details and material finishes, before we can provide an accurate quotation. We can also provide rendered visual drawings at a nominal fee if required.
To confirm your order we ask for a deposit to reserve a manufacturing slot and to purchase the raw materials. On commissions up to 50% deposit is required and then 30% at the project commencement, balance is due on completion. Whilst on larger commissions we require a third deposit, a further third halfway through the manufacturing and the balance on completion.
During the manufacturing you are welcome to contact us to be briefed about the production process. Whether your project is large or small we are on hand to answer any questions, ensuring that your project meets your exact requirements and is delivered successfully.
Pricing
The custom built furniture and joinery we create is built to last, designed with careful attention to detail and lovingly made by highly skilled craftsmen using the best construction techniques and materials. It is not something that you will find on the high street.

The chosen finishes i.e. sprayed paint or hand brushed, oiled or lacquered.
The complexity of the furniture or joinery.
The ease of access to your home or office.
Whether it is fitted or freestanding.
Lighting or electrical provision.
The scale of your project.
