The Gift of the Givers Foundation is the largest disaster relief organisation of African origin on the African continent. We have designed and developed the world’s first and largest containerised mobile hospital, which was deployed in Bosnia. We have delivered over R300 million in aid to 25 countries around the world, including South Africa. It was comparable to the best hospitals in Europe and remains unmatched to this day.

Gift of the Givers is the largest disaster response NGO of African origin on the African continent. Innovating the world's first and only containerised mobile hospital comprising 28 units, innovating the world's first containerised primary health care unit, innovating the world's first groundnut-soya high energy and protein supplement in the use of severe Malnutrition, HIV/AIDS, TB, Cancer and other debilitating conditions, and establishing Africa's largest Open Source Computer Lab has earned us 117 individual and organisational accolades and awards including 4 Presidential awards. Thus far we have disbursed R2.1 billion in aid to needy individuals and communities in our 25 year history. Gift of the Givers Foundation are facilitators of Almighty God's Aid (in a metaphorical sense), distributing it from Him to all of mankind. Their Generosity permits Gift of the Givers Foundation to serve mankind selflessly ensuring that the honour, dignity and respect of all recipients of assistance are strictly guarded without exception. The Gift of the Givers Foundation and its Donors strive to be that symbol of Hope, God Willing. Counselling is a talking therapy that allows an individual to talk about and deal with issues that cause them dis-ease. At Careline we believe that in order to provide a professional service it is vitally important to engage in new learnings and keep informed of the latest developments. Our needs and gaps are identified through case-load and current social issues. Counsellors are continuously provided with training, workshops and talks. Gift of the Givers Careline understands the power and strength of working together in order to offer their clients the best facilities and resources. It is understood especially in the field of social service that the expertise of many individuals and organisations are needed thus networking with them. The employee assistance program (EAP) is a service contract between Gift of the Givers Careline and companies. Employees are provided with a variety of support programs. It is humbling to remember our early beginnings but equally heartening to realise our learning and growth points. We have come a long way since, but our women are still marginalised and discriminated against till today. In order to be a volunteer counsellor at the Gift of the Givers Careline one has to undergo a period of training that covers a broad range of topics which deepen self understanding and knowledge of counseling principles and techniques. The training is designed to be interactive and introspective. This meeting allows volunteer counsellors to look holistically into their volunteer services; it covers various aspects like the following. The purpose is varied and could be educational, motivational, creating awareness or even orientating around referral procedures. Training has been provided by international and local service providers to practice as HIV/AIDS facilitators and trainers. Support groups are tailor made according to the need of individuals experiencing loss, divorce, death or any major change in their lives. These are offered to children, adults, couples and groups. The majority of our case load entails marital and relationship issues.
