We are a community of the King, relating as a loving family in an environment of worship and compassion. We strive to stimulate an intimacy with God, our Father and to further His Kingdom through an active and intentional equipping of His people, as we practice the presence by being nurtured in His spiritual gifts. The Lord gave us this value structure to help visualise the world as the field. Due to the transitory nature of our community, our values show how we perceive ourselves, as well as our preferred future. The Vineyard Movement is a network of over 1,500 churches worldwide, committed to seeing each generation reached by the power of the Gospel. With a view to embrace integrity in Christian character along with the activity of the Holy Spirit, each Vineyard church seeks to be an outpost of God’s compassionate love in a broken world. The aim is to build relationships and do life together. Our missions programmes are varied, but all focus on working in community with other churches, with the aim of spreading the good news of the Kingdom of God. We focus on some local school, NGO and social programmes nationally and internationally. This is our annual showcase of new ministries and gifting abilities. There are some other opportunities to serve at Grace including: Tea teams, service hosts, info desk, crèche, Junior church, worship music, sound, media and maintenance teams. Leadership at Grace is relational and functional rather than positional. We are shepherds and not wardens and therefore don’t rule, but serve. There are multiple leadership roles at Grace and they are not hierarchical but influential. Other activities directed to the Lord, which we consider worship include giving (tithing), acts of kindness, service through planned activity and Holy Spirit prompting and supporting church initiatives through participation. Diverse prayer encounters including praise, petition, intercession, prayers of faith and praying in the Spirit (including tongues). Practising the presence of God in all our gatherings. Public exercising of spiritual gifts in Lifestyle groups and evangelical meetings. youth, children’s work, ladies ministry, seniors and pastoral Hospitality and fellowship especially in the Lifestyle groups which includes breaking bread in each other’s homes and regular communion on Sundays. Sharing of our faith experiences in Jesus with others. Engaging HIV AIDS orphanages and hospital visitation. Family is valued and we endeavour to make room for every generation.
