Which started off with less than 80 participants in 2012 has escalated to over 3500 participants in The six charities partaking have all dedicated time and effort into the fight against cancer and none would be where they are without the public and the constant support they get from their respective communities. This time they’re coming together and are calling on their long-time supporters to join in the fun and spread the love. The race will allow people who have been affected by cancer, whether it be survivors or those who lost a loved one, to come together and share their stories while also familiarising themselves with the different charities that offer support in times of need. This will be the 5 th instalment of what has become a favourite for fitness enthusiasts and people who have been affected by cancer, coming together to raise much-needed funds for various charities supporting cancer patients, survivors and their families. The Cancer Alliance is the beneficiary of the event which is a collective group of non-profit organisations advocating for better care & support for cancer patients and their families. attracted more than 400 delegates from all parts of the world which included Belgium, United Kingdom, Malawi and Central Africa just to mention a few. The hospice Association was founded in 1987 and is a membership organisation for South African hospices. During the last decade HPCA has established national and provincial Palliative Care development structures aimed specifically and purposefully at support and capacity building of member hospices and more recently of partner organisations in terms of the provision of quality palliative care. CaSIPO supports the South African Government to strengthen referral systems and retention in care through the integration of Comprehensive Care and Support within healthcare and community systems. The project, called CaSIPO (Care and Support to Improve Patient Outcomes) will integrate comprehensive care and support programming into the boarder context of primary healthcare service delivery. AIDS-free generation is a shared responsibility with partner countries in a convening role. Together, PEPFAR's technical assistance and the South Africa government's increasing investments in direct HIV service provision are bringing ART and other essential health services closer to where people living with HIV reside, and creating a more accessible and sustainable health care system. Country ownership is the cornerstone of USAID’s work as a development agency, not just in HIV programs, but in all sectors. PEPFAR’s model of shared responsibility is complementary to the foundation of how USAID does business. These care packages will then be extended into all service areas so that each patient diagnosed with a life- threatening or life-limiting illness will receive care and support in addition to care directed at the illness appropriate to the level of service. The anticipated impact of the project will be to improve retention in care, quality of care and quality of life. To provide technical assistance to the SAG to integrate Comprehensive Care and Support into Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines. To build capacity of SAG, Partners and Community Based Organizations to implement the policies which integrate care and support. To Strengthen retention and referral systems to support retention in care and reduce loss to follow up.
