Ian’s passion for clothing started at an early age and to feed this desire he worked at the Stevenage market merchandising and selling clothes, saving up his weekly earnings to be able to purchase the latest fashion apparel. Ian began sketching designs as he toured the world on letterheads and airline coasters, dreaming of the day he could wear his own creations. The dream is now reality, both Ian and yourself can wear the IJP clothing brand on and off the golf course. Ian is focused on quality and attention to detail so it will come as no surprise to learn that each garment has been tried and tested prior to production. For each seasonal collection, three different coloured tartans are woven. The famous Poulter tartan bootleg trousers and now shorts are the pillars of each collection that the range is then designed around. Since then, year after year, the company has continued to receive design awards whilst continuously extending and developing its collection, always staying true to its convictions. We have developed shoes of a previously unknown lightness. The amazing technical comfort of our collections provides the basis for your perfect play and Baldovino Mattiazzo’s design has brought the elegance and light-heartedness of Italian dolce vita to the world’s golf courses. Only a few years after the foundation of the company, Duca del Cosma has become a leading international player. The company has been growing continuously as more and more golfers all over the world rely on Duca del Cosma’s style and technology. However, the quality of the leather is of outmost importance. Our animals come from Italy, and due to their pore size, we only select hides from smaller animals. Skins have two sides: the outside, which is usually covered with hair, is the more robust grain side, the inner side is the flesh side. For the exterior of our shoes, we only use the more resistant grain side. Most cowhide leather available on the German market is chromium tanned (mineral tanning, in baths). A membrane is like a wall separating liquids and gas. For the interior finishing of Duca del Cosma shoes we use a micro-fibre material with a membrane and waterproof tape sealing. Even so, the upper leather has to be treated in regular intervals to ensure humidity runs off and does not soak in, so that the leather maintains its suppleness.
