Artwork Requirements How should artwork be supplied to Imaterial. We supply a full range of raw materials or ready to use dyes for screen printing. Our customers have the choice either to create their own design on a new screen or to choose an existing design that we already have on screen. We have a substantial amount of designs on screen that are open to the trade and public to use. There is a screen cost for exclusive designs whereas choosing an existing screen from our library has no extra cost. This saves time in cutting and preparing of new screens and saves the customer in screen costs. Additionally, there are over 1000 designs that are on screen to choose from. The rotary screens are ready to print so all the customer needs to supply is the preferred colours and the fabric. If the customer cannot find the design required or if it is a unique design required, new screens are made to customer specification. The coating system and formula we use are unique to us and are the only type of it's kind in Cape Town. These coatings are not plastic, they are formulated with a water-base and are ozone friendly. Additionally, our coatings are done on the roll and are heat cured afterwards. We have numerous fabric coating or padding options on offer depending on customer requirements. Water repellent finishing of fabrics of all fibre types. Adds to print durability, used to repel water only, this is not a waterproof. Adds extra body and durability to fabric (Used for tablecloths and household furnishing). Improves wash & adds extra strength to print and fabric. Improves smoothness, handle, sew ability, wrinkles, elasticity and pilling. (Used for softening of fabrics especially for fashion garments). Improves dry rub, handle, smoothness, sew-ability, wrinkles & pile. Improves dry rub, wet wash fastness, print uniformity and colour yield. Some of our special effects include: glitter, pearl sheen, transparent sheen, puffs, mock flock, mock discharge, beads, sequins, glow in the dark, neon's. Plain fabric base for the printing of designs can be supplied by the customer or we have our own range from which to choose from. Although our fabrics are PFP, all customers must do their own tests for suitability prior to bulk manufacture. When supplying fabric for printing please ensure it is Prepared For Printing (PFP) and fluff free. We have our own lazer engraving and screen coating equipment which is very high tech equipment from Stork. This allows us to do our own in house rotary screen engraving giving us a very fast turnaround time for getting new designs ready for printing. Additionally, this especially beneficial for our fashion customers where quick turnaround could be key to sales. Furthermore, we are the only Cape Town based company to offer rotary screen supply and engrave to other screen printing companies.
