Professor Doreen Atkinson is a rural development expert with 30 years’ experience in the fields of rural and regional development, small town development, agriculture, tourism, land reform, rural-urban dynamics, municipal governance and intergovernmental relations. Professor Atkinson holds a BA and BA Hons degree from Rhodes University, a Masters degree from the University of California (Berkeley), and a PhD degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Mr Philip Cole is a consultant development economist with 30 years’ experience in Southern Africa in economic research, planning and analysis and he has experience in all aspects of the project cycle, project and programme design and monitoring and evaluation. Mike de Klerk has 40 years of experience as a smallholder agriculture, rural development and agricultural finance expert. Mike has a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town. Mike presently lives in Pretoria and has worked widely in the Southern and Eastern African region. Mr Godfrey Dlulane has 10 years experience as survey expert and socio-economic researcher specialising in the areas of qualitative, quantitative research methodologies and participatory-related research techniques. Godrey has a BA (Social Sciences) at the University of Cape Town and also Higher Diploma in Education and Postgraduate Diploma in Media Studies and Journalism and courses in Publishing and Management Studies at Wits University. Mr Anton Groenewald is a qualified Economist/Analyst with more than 20 years work experience in economic impact assessments, economic feasibility studies, socio-economic surveys, labour force analysis, sector and economic growth analysis, and most recently sponsorship impact assessments. Solly Moeng is an experienced holistic Brand Manager and media professional who specialises in Strategic Communications, PR and Media Relations. Solly has a French MA Degree and has also completed the Institute for Marketing Management’s Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing and attended courses at the respected Vega School of Branding. Mr Happy Mohane is an experienced economist with over 12 years experience in enterprise development and microfinance, value chain analysis, agriculture, business linkages, monitoring & evaluation and development finance. Mr Darlington Mutakwa is a Demographer and statistician with 9 years of experience in the field of quantitative data analysis.
