Our trained commissioning teams are capable of the complete testing and commissioning of air-conditioned systems; including air and water balancing, controls and electrical, in compliance with local and international standards. We are one of the only HVAC providers that have in-house duct manufacturing facilities in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town. We specialise in rectangular, circular and board (pre-insulated) ducting, and are SMACNA and SABS approved. We have over 70 years experience within the HVAC industry and work on medium to large scale projects, ranging between R 5 million and R 500 million in value. Our 250 staff members across our branches in Johannesburg, Western Cape, Kwa-Zulu Natal, as well as Mozambique and the UAE, enable us to service South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa; while our in-house manufacturing facilities allow us to manufacture key HVAC components at competitive prices and shorter lead times. The company was started in 1945 by Mr. Robert J. S. Caldwell who began providing hospital ships for the British Admiralty in the Port Elizabeth harbour with air conditioning. Since then, the company has been through a number of name and ownership changes, and ultimately all assets and liabilities were bought from Murray & Roberts in Today, IES holds shares in various other companies and owns various properties across the country.
