As a parent, Sams motivation for writing and producing kids decor books and creative products is to inspire other moms to be more creative with their family and home environments. Sam believes a child’s environment is the first step to creative experience and expression. Sam runs her own kids decor company specializing in product design of creative play spaces and play ideas for children. She is a decor consultant, focussing on childrens rooms. Sam also presents creative decor workshops, giving parents inspiring decor ideas for their childr ens bedrooms and personal spaces. Sam also works with Rock Girl SA, a grassroots organization focussing on the safety of young girls. Sam’s original concept will be in place at Freeworld’s Designer-Maker market, but has also been expanded in collaboration with the Freeworld Design Centre. The Kids Market Day at the Designer-Maker Market will now include an array of entertaining parent-child activities such as designing your own festive items from brightly coloured felt. In all, a host of positive and creative activities that will engage and help develop budding creative and conceptual skills. The kiddies section will also be beautifully decorated by Sam Scarborough and promises a visual feast of delightful ideas for kids, such as bunting, a tiny teepee, and a charming gazebo. An art wall in a kids room is something to be proud of.The handiwork displayed for all to see and not just shoved in a drawe or haphasardly sticky-taped to the fridge. The same applies to toys and the clutter on the floor. Give your child a magical play cupboard in their room. Sam stresses that older kids who have homework to do need to have the area clearly defined in a way that gives them a sense of importance, so they dont view it as a drudge. Remember, always be ready to change kids get bored easily and even just painting the bunk beds a funky colour will add a new dimension to the room. She specialises in playrooms and play areas for kids and decorates for all ages. Her approach is to work together with parents to help them decorate their kids rooms by designing moodboards of ideas and inspiration. If required, Sam decorates entire rooms and well as overseas project management and installation.Sam also designs corporate play spaces and interiors. She is busy designing and developing more products for kids decor,and also does product design for retail clients.
