LANARK was the brainchild of owner, Nigel Bowley, who came to South Africa in 1996 with a burning desire to start his own manufacturing business and, in so doing, to help provide employment opportunities for local craftsmen and create an environment where young jobseekers could fulfil their potential. In an age when most furniture is mass produced and poorly made in the Far East, we hope LANARK can fill an obvious local need for genuine quality furniture at a reasonable price. All of our furniture is made from solid wood using traditional cabinet making techniques that have been passed down through the ages. The company does not use veneered chipboard or super-wood and all of our furniture is available in a wide range of hardwoods, including American poplar, oak, ash, rosewood, kiaat, teak, blackwood, cherry, mahogany, maple, walnut, boire, iroko and beech. Here at LANARK, we have an extensive range of standard items which can be customised on-line to suit your specific needs, and we will also custom design furniture to meet your exact requirements. With a little more than a week to go to Luca's first marathon race everyone at Lanark is getting very excited! We're thrilled that Wingman Multisport Coaching have offered to guide Luca in his race preparation and future development.
