Living Water Swim School, operating since 2004 offers private swimming lessons to children aged 2.5 years to 6 years and group mom and baby classes from 6 months to 30months. Children with sensory disorders are welcome and lessons tailored to meet their needs through consultation with their own occupational therapist or physiotherapist. Parents watch the lesson from the poolside and the use of progress charts track swimming milestones achieved. The use of toys makes the lesson fun. Children are taken from basic water awareness to water safety skills and then once competent, swimming strokes will be taught giving children a solid swimming foundation. Our pool is heated and indoors; only one teacher in the pool at a time aids a calm quiet environment for optimum concentration and learning. We operate Mon to Thurs 08h30 to 18h00; Friday 08h30 to 16h00 and Saturday 08h30 to 12h00. Two week intensive swimming courses are offered in July and December.

One instructor teaches in the pool at a time, minimising distractions and providing the optimum learning environment. Warm water, toys and songs promote an optimum child friendly environment, making learning how to swim a positive experience. Babies and children are progressed step by step using age appropriate skills. Baby and parent classes introduce water awareness, safety skills and water orientation to our youngest swimmers, while parents take away valuable practical skills to use at home. Young children from 2 and a half are taught on a one on one basis with the teacher. The use of progression charts help to track their progress while giving them a sense of achievement and pride. Classes are structured and centred on routine, repetition and demonstration. Children from 4 years are taught the basics of all four strokes, laying a solid foundation for future swimming.
