Just over 30 years ago, carrying a smattering of luggage and rather empty pockets, a young hairdresser from the United Kingdom arrived in South Africa, harbouring an unparalleled determination to succeed in his chosen profession. Armed with his wife’s support (and the funds raised from selling her car!) and all his savings, Lewis Thomas took the first step towards realising his dream when he opened his first hairdressing salon in Cavendish Close, Cape Town, in And so began the story of Partners Hair Design (PHD), which, from humble beginnings has grown exponentially over a period of nearly three decades, to become the established, highly successful business that it is today. Lewis Thomas, owner of Partners Hair Design started this successful group of salons in 1984 with one salon in Claremont. Lewis is the recipient of numerous National and International Awards. He has had his work published in the SA Hairdressers Journal, Image Magazine and Glamour Magazine, amongst others. He also heads the Partners Hair Design Creative Team. After carefully selecting a group of models with various lengths of hair, we cherry-picked a team from our top stylists. Her passion for hairdressing started early and over the past 10 years with PHD she has fined tuned her craft by participating and absorbing all education and training made available to staff. Her enthusiasm is contagious and clients get caught up in this during her in-depth consultation to determine their needs.
