The owner, Larry Berger, has been operating in Cape Town in the plumbing industry since He is a qualified and licensed plumber with the City of Cape Town water department since Since 1987, we have been involved in all aspects of Plumbing. From renovations, maintenance, blockages, geyser replacements, elements, thermostats, tap washers, we cover it all. There is no product we have not seen, nor any problem we have not solved. We tackle all fields of Plumbing which include Commercial and Residential. Established in Cape Town in 1999, specializing in locating Leaks and Burst pipes via the use of electronic leak detection equipment. We are leaders in this field and have completed over 10,000 leak detections to date. We have a variety of electronic equipment to use, depending on the type of leak we are locating. We use the Gas method, Acoustic, Moisture meters and Thermography. Most of our client base is via the Insurance industry, brokers, assessors and property managers. Our irrigation knowledge goes back to 1987 and we have been installing irrigation systems in Cape Town since then. From commercial to residential, we have covered all aspects including manual and automated systems. Established in 2010, we felt the need to expand into this sector and cover all aspects of where the thermal camera can assist our client base. Fire prevention: Quarterly or Bi annual Thermal inspection of all electrical DB boards. Refrigeration and cold storage: Quarterly or Bi annual Thermal inspection of seals for refrigeration and cold storage plants. Insulation inspection: Quarterly or Bi annual Thermal inspection of insulation material on boilers, geysers, pipe systems etc. Night shots: Thermal image of a building at night, showing temperature losses through seals, doors and windows. Get your geyser inspected and consider replacing your safety valve every so often. there is no discharge of stormwater into the sewer system. The water meter registers when a tap is open and stops completely when no water is drawn. If there is then movement on the meter, this points to a defect somewhere on the property. None of the terminal water fittings leak and they are correctly fixed in position. There is no cross connection between the potable supply and any grey water or groundwater system which may be installed. There are no defects which can cause water to run to waste, and. Clarity in terms of Geyser overflows (installed within roof space versus sectional title and old high rise buildings). Termination of expansion drip and T&P overflows directly into stacks. The expansion relief drip and T&P safety valve overflows to discharge over a tundish of suitable capacity, with an air gap of 50mm minimal between the ends of the overflow pipes and the upper rim of the tundish. 3.4) If the lawn or paved area cannot cope with the volume of rain water, then it should be diverted to the road. 3.6) If all fails, the City will allow you to discharge the storm water into the sewer at a levy. Make sure it is standing still whilst nothing in the house is being used, you could have a burst pipe or pinholes, toilet ball valve is overflowing into toilet pan, toilet flushing mechanism is not sealing, faulty PRV or T & P. If there is no blockage then clean manhole rim, use grease to seal, check inside periodically for roots, dirt and sand. If roots are found, a re-pipe of this section is essential. The roots will now grow back with twice the force and size and crack your sewer line further.
