Ramot was established in 1964, to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to individuals and families who are affected by drug and alcohol addiction. Ramot follows a multi-disciplinary drug and alcohol rehabilitation treatment programme, which is based on scientific research and implemented by specialist personnel trained in their respective fields. Our expertise comes from more than forty years of experience treating alcohol and drug addiction. Our patients are in good hands and surrounded by people who care. Our staff members feel they are called to profession; no one views it as just a job. Perhaps you realise you need rehabilitation for your own drug or alcohol addiction. When she returned to Cape Town she worked at a union for 19 years. She has been working at Ramot for the past 4 years and enjoys her work. She wants to be an independent, successful person and being at Ramot provides her with a good start to her career. She was born in Port Elizabeth but grew up in Cape Town and completed a Secretarial Diploma through Cape Town School of Commerce and has since worked as an Administrative Secretary throughout her career. Daphne is a single mother to her daughter and grandson who still lives with her. Freda has completed her registered nursing assistant training at Eben Donges Hospital in Worcester. Thereafter she worked as a private nurse and as a receptionist at a GP. She worked for a year at a private facility with oncology patients. Years later, she obtained a degree in Demographics at the University of Pretoria, a Diploma in Human Resources at the University of Technology in Cape Town and a Senior Management Diploma at the Stellenbosch Business School. She was also a flight attendant and was fortunate to travel and explore the world, while also contributing to one of her interests. She was appointed as Director of Safeline at the City Mission and worked with abused children administering play therapy. For the last six years she's been a social worker at Ramot and assists the therapeutic team with assessments, admissions and aftercare. She matriculated at Collegiate Girls’ High School and thereafter attended The University of Cape Town where she completed her Bachelors degree in Social Work. She is a newly qualified Social Worker and started off her career at Christelike Afhanklikheids Diens (CAD) which is an aftercare organization working with those who have left the rehabilitation centre and thereafter she moved on to the Disability sector and went on to work for The Western Cape Cerebral Palsy Association (WCCPA). degrees and has served as a minister for 24 years in four congregations of the Dutch Reformed Church. Here they can be guided in a sensitive way to stand up from the darkness and start living a new and purpose-driven life. Naas is originally from Johannesburg where he studied at the Rand Afrikaans University. Naas worked for eight years as an officer psychologist in the South African Military Medical Service.
