Bloubergstrand is well-known for its azure sea with big waves and tubes for the water sports lover. Enjoy a mouth-watering breakfast, a delicious lunch or a gorgeous dinner at one of the many well-known restaurants in the area of which the nearest is 100 meters away on the beach front. Bloubergstrand is situated a convenient 25-minute drive from Cape Town International Airport and is centrally situated for daily adventures to major tourist attractions. Rockpool 1208 is situated on the beach front and has some of the most breath taking vistas in the world. Be amazed by dolphins, whales and seals sharing the waves with kite surfers, body boarders, surfers and sea kayaks. Have a cup of coffee or a sundowner while lazing back in a comfy chair and enjoying the magnificent view of Table Bay, the Atlantic Seaboard, Robben Island and majestic Table Mountain (the new Seventh Wonder of the world) with Cape Town at its foot. Every room is fitted with travertine rock tiles, under-floor heating and carpets. Beautifully furnished with a double, one of a kind, antique brass bed and two walnut arm chairs from where you can sit back and enjoy the breathtaking view of Table Mountain. This bedroom has two single beds, ample built-in cupboards and has a view to the east of the Durbanville Hills and the Boland Mountain Range. The shower room is fitted with the best in modern bathroom ware. The shower offers breathtaking vistas of Table Mountain and Table Bay. The living room is fitted with homemade and antique furniture. Rockpool 1208 is situated at a small stretch of rocky shore line between two long stretches of sandy beaches, Blouberg beach and Big Bay beach. During low tide Small Bay is like a big puddle, almost no waves and very safe for younger children to play in with a white sandy beach that stretches around it. Excellent for surfing and body boarding with right and left beach breaks. When the well known South Easter wind is blowing, the conditions are fantastic for wind surfing and kite surfing. Shower facilities are availably on the beach and life savers are around during summer time. During low tide you can walk through shallow water to the 'island', a rock formation that is only exposed during low tide. The waves get real hollow when the South Easter is blowing and is great for tube riding. It is the premier spot for hundreds of kite surfers during summer time. Many water sport competitions like jet-skiing, kite surfing, surfing, body boarding and rubber ducking take place through out the year along this stretch of white sandy beach with ample space for everyone. Have a scrumptious breakfast on the beach front with a view of Table Mountain. Make sure you are there around 09:00, because they are usually quite booked out. Fine dining with breathtaking views of the ocean and Table Mountain.
