It was a lovely Spring day at Rondekuil Estates when Lucy and Bertus exchanged their wedding vows on the lawns overlooking the rolling hillside surrounding the farm. Our Egyptian Geese, Maude and Marvin are back on the bottom dam again with their clutch of new chicks. This year they only hatched 6 chicks, but we are glad to report that the entire family are doing well, and the chicks are growing bigger by the day. We were delighted when the prestigious brand of KPMG booked our venue facility to host their Team Building day for their Audit Department. It’s hard to believe that this popular choice for accommodation at Rondekuil was once a farm water reservoir. Filled with water, and used as a water source for cattle and horses. Rondekuil is well-known and loved as a wedding and function venue, but fewer people are aware of our excellent self-catering accommodation options at the same location. Just after a bout of lighting, thunder and pouring rain, we dressed warmly, and took the dogs down to the river at Rondekuil for their walk. Mid-summer at Rondekuil Country Estate offers a distinctive and unique experience to our guests. The days are long and lazy, the air is dry and warm and the peace and tranquility experienced all play a part in creating a memorable getaway experience. Each year, around spring time, we are privileged to be home to a breeding pair of Blue Cranes. They roost in the top field after the wheat has been harvested, and over the years have always hatched two chicks each season. At this time in winter the countyside is a lush green, where lands have been planted to wheat, oats or canola.
