Our Scope of Works was to execute the Mechanical aspects of the melter-gasifier in order to perform the campaign extension as well as to prepare the furnace for the restart. SA Five Engineering has a number of facilities in the Western Cape of South Africa. We are one of the few Mechanical Engineering Contractors to have been certified in accordance with the requirements of SABS ISO 9001:2008. In the relatively short period of time elapsed since its inception date, the company has established itself as one of the most professional, reliable and efficient contractors in the country. This position has been secured by adopting a policy based on service, quality and safety, benefiting our clients, employees and shareholders. Directors, Management and Staff worked together as a Mechanical Engineering Contracting Team for the last 21 years which is undoubtedly the cornerstone of our success. We have proven ability to transfer our knowledge, professionalism and efficiency across the Southern Continent. The philosophy of managing the project with strong on-site teams operating as self contained units headed by a resourceful project manager, has met with unqualified success in handling projects distanced from Head Office. In the Western Cape, we are a leader in our field, filling major contract roles at key point installations, such as Koeberg Nuclear Power Station and Chevron Refinery. We are continually involved in Capital Projects and maintenance for clients such as ArcelorMittal, Chevron and Tongaat Hulett. We have over three hundred and fifty staff members all highly skilled in the mechanical and structural engineering field, with all welders coded to a minimum ASME IX qualification. With all company directors in executive roles, top management is available to our clients at any hour enabling the decision making process to proceed at pace. We are one of the few Mechanical Engineering Contractors to have been certified in accordance with the requirements of SABS ISO 9001, an internationally recognised Quality Management System, currently converted to ISO 9001:2008. This guarantees to our clients a very high quality of workmanship, plus recording and traceability to facilitate future modifications, expansions and replacements. Our safety and welfare policy is administered by a full time Safety Officer and a Personnel Officer and our offices, workshops and contract sites are run in strict accordance with the current safety legislation. Our workshops, serviced by overhead craneage, enable us to produce work at competitive prices whilst maintaining a high degree of quality. Sliding doors enable the fabrication of different metals (stainless steel and duplex) to take place in isolated environments with no cross contamination.
