St Matthews Church Table View - Where we Treasure God and Experience His Family.

Set up tea and coffee for after the service and serve. There is also an opportunity to serve as a reserve if you are unable to serve for an entire calendar month. The Multimedia Team at St. Matthews strives to be a group of highly motivated, committed, and enthusiastic servants who value excellence and one another. We strive to create a worship service environment that is comfortable and inviting. These volunteers operate equipment such as lighting, sound desk, music equipment, visuals, etc. Their role is to support the band, speaker, and all on-stage people as they lead or communicate to the congregation on Sundays. They focus on facilitating worship and communication, focusing attention, and removing distractions. We have a church pantry that is stocked by our congregation. The pantry goodies are made into food parcels for those less fortunate in our church family. One of the most satisfying things for a person can be the opportunity to give back to their community. SALT, a non-profit organization, has volunteer opportunities available for those who wish to participate in their cause. Activities such as face painting, cup cake decorating, games and outside activities. Maintenance team: General maintenance such as fixing of windows, mowing lawn, assisting in the vegetable garden. Assisting from making sandwiches, administration and counseling. No experience necessary (all training is done on site). SOUP KITCHEN Cook in one of our soup kitchens which provides meals for malnourished children and family members. Food is cooked in the mornings and served after school in the afternoons. COMMUNITY HOURS FOR SCHOLARS: Several workdays and community projects are available for students requiring community hours for school. PERSONAL Tutors We have volunteer opportunites for: High school maths, life science and physical science, English, Business studies, Xhosa, Accounting and Geography. Tutors need to be available for fortnight Saturday tutor classes held at the SALT Finishing strong venues Mentors Qualify to mentor a high school student and assist in various aspects of the students life. FOOD COLLECTION Collect food and items (in house) needed for our various projects List available from SALT office. MEDIA/VIDEO FILMING AND EDITING: SALT regularly requires video footage to advertise our projects for funding and awareness. Experience in filming and editing would be beneficial. Camera equipment can be supplied by SALT for filming. ONCE OFF DRIVES: Make yourself available for when we have a workday or large outreach. FIELD WORKER ASSISTANT: Be trained as a Field worker, working in the community with our various projects at ground level. No experience necessary, but a heart for the community and mission work essential.
