Our online platform is complemented by a brick-and-mortar art gallery in Cape Town; an intimate space in which we regularly host exhibitions and where art lovers can view a dynamic selection of South African art for sale by our roster of artists. StateoftheART is a juried fine art gallery; we do not accept every artist that would like to exhibit the original art they have for sale. for consideration to our panel of art professionals who maintain the quality of the original art being exhibited. The Panel selects each artist and every piece of artwork not only on merit, but to demonstrate a diverse range of styles, skills and techniques. Janet Botes Janet Botes has been involved in various projects, exhibitions and initiatives in the Western Cape and Gauteng. She is also the founder and curator for an interactive arts project entitled Scapes, which aims to bring artists from different disciplines together into creative collaborations focused on interaction with the landscape. Bongani is a Fine Artist with a passion for curating art exhibitions and managing public art projects. The gallery is committed to developing its exhibiting artists and their presence in the art world. Commissioning an artwork for yourself, or someone important to you, is a highly personal gift that can become a family heirloom or commemorate a special occasion. Limited edition prints are a truly special corporate business gift idea. Recipients will feel appreciated with a personalized corporate gift they can keep forever. Commission the highest quality original limited edition prints to promote your corporate identity through art that reflects your values. Each limited edition print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity stating that the edition has been printed expressly for (your Company). Full payment is required to commence a sculpture commission due to the high cost of the materials. A commission can usually be carried out within the time frame you set. The artist will arrange a schedule and we will keep you informed of how the commission is progressing. Commissions cost more than an original piece of artwork by the same artist. This is due to the process and time it takes for them to create something bespoke to you. However what you gain from it as a unique and personal piece which is priceless. This is highly unlikely as we carry out a number of thorough consultations with you and the artist before the commission begins, so there is total communication and thorough understanding of what you want. If you enjoy the artist’s work, it is unlikely they will do anything but true justice to your piece. Throughout the process we will keep you informed of the progress of the work as it develops and agree at what stages you are able to make requests. Occasionally, if the artist lives far away it is not possible but we can usually arrange a telephone conversation.
