Tranquility, a multiple award-winning guest house, offers exceptional views, beautiful rooms, mouth-watering breakfasts, and warm hospitality. A charming and refined wooden home, Tranquility is built on the side of a mountain with beautiful sea and mountain views in front and out back you are perched on Table Mountain National Park with its unique flora, fauna and birds. The house is full of character, built with beautiful wood craftmanship, every room is unique, with different shapes and corners, full of sun, light and fresh mountain and sea air. Then, moving to the back of the house, the scene is transformed into an entirely different landscape of the fynbos of Elsie’s Peak. In most places, one would have to travel far to see such contrasting scenery, but in Tranquility these may be observed from the rooms, patios and balconies. Many species of birds are regular visitors of the rose garden from where one may hike up the mountain with a fair chance of crossing the paths of porcupines, guinea fowl and deer. This truly is a special place created by God for peace and refreshing. A dream of Ron and Gill’s to welcome and serve incredible and wonderful people from the nations of the world. They in turn brought love and friendship and touched their lives. After 20 years of running this dream guest house they handed the baton over to the new owners, Jan and Bonny Vat, who will have the privilege of meeting their past faithful guests and the many new ones who enter these doors! Ron and Gill will be moving to an apartment in Simon’s Town early 2018 but in the meantime will be staying close at hand to help with the transition. This will ensure that the true values of Tranquility will remain the same as they will have much time to instill all that they have learnt over the past 20 years. Jan, who brings his bubbly personality to Tranquility and Desiree who has played an essential role in running Tranquility over the years will welcome you back to experience many more wonderful holidays at Tranquility! Sadly, we have lost the love of our lives, Big Rosie, our beloved border collie! She was the life and soul of Tranquility and is so sorely missed! Baby Rosie is still here as are our francolins and beautiful birds. We have also acquired a family of guinea fowls who make their presence really heard! Tranquility Guest House offers luxurious, beautifully appointed accommodation with delicious home-cooked breakfasts. It has four en-suite bedrooms, each with its own distinctive charm and character, each a haven of hospitality and a sanctuary of rest.
