Born from need, Habitat Mould Services was founded in 2012 by Donovan Barnes and Cornelius Bezuidenhout to service industry with a unique service. A permanent standby facility to respond rapidly to the pressing need to stay in production. We are distributors of Fiber and CO 2 laser cutting and engraving/marking machines, as well as laser welding machines. Our machines are easy to operate and virtually maintenance free. We also offer laser cutting, marking and engraving services, with the emphasis on unique, custom made products. Our machines can cut extremely detailed shapes and patterns, or big and bulky, depending on your design. CO 2 laser machines are used to cut and engrave materials such as leather, wood, plastic, Perspex, fabric, paper and cardboard. Cutting and engraving (scanning) are done by the same machine, depending on the settings. We specialise in engraving moulds for the blow moulding industry. Whether engraving is needed inside the mould, or down in the base, at an angle, on a curved surface, we can do it, using our industrial model fiber laser engraving machines. Laser cutting, marking and engraving on wood, steel, paper, cardboard or plastic. We specialise in creating unique, custom-made products for our clients. Blow moulding repair, alteration and refurbishment specialists of PET and extrusion blow moulds. Suppliers of laser engraving, cutting and welding machines. If there is a mould required for a machine we have not yet manufactured for, we design the mould off the machine spec drawings or from a reverse engineering of a mould already used for production. With no CAD data, we have a Romer scanning arm for reverse engineering, a laser welder for accurate weld buildup and repair, and well skilled work force to get the job done. We do general services and repair at HMS branch, so in event of any damage, we quickly repair anything. Calling on full product development, mould design and production experience of a combined 40 years in industry, alterations to improve production, enhance cycle times, or just improving the visual appeal of products, developing brand new products or changing process parameters, the Habitat team has an extensive capability to understand and suggest, work collaboratively with, or innovatively to solve customer’s needs. In the environment of production, quality control and delivery expectation are king. Apparent damage to deep lying fundamental enhancements are all part of our service. Siemens NX is compatible with most CAD formats in native forms, and the world leader in both modelling and machining complex 3D. Coupled with a unique Romar 3D special scanning arm, exact tolerances can be maintained and previously manufactured moulds precisely reverse engineered to refurbish or alter even your oldest moulds, parts or Manufactured machine parts that CAD data cannot be obtained. We offer this service also as a standalone service to other Toolrooms. Offered in conjunction with new moulds, and or a standalone service, we offer our clients modelling, and or growing a presented STL file, no problem!
