The existing house was built in the early 70’s and had fallen into a state of disrepair. The alterations are designed to maximize the utility of the outdoor spaces which were not used previously, while remodeling the interior living and bedroom spaces. This proposal sought to formalize a busy intersection on the main road through Hout Bay, Cape Town by providing a safe taxi rank with pedestrian crossing that allowed for informal traders to take advantage of the foot traffic. The concept was an insertion of new office space and media centre into existing urban fabric in downtown Johannesburg, linking the existing headquarters with the new.
