Julie Symmonds is the teacher at Turning Steps Studio. I combine discipline and structure with fun and learning. " I have a happy studio, where every dancer is special and loved. After travelling to Europe, and Ireland, UK, Julie began teaching at the end of 1997. Julie graduated from the University of Cape Town School of Dance in 1996. Students are encouraged to take part in Eisteddfods, concerts and ballet exams. Classes range from Baby Ballerinas (3 year olds) upwards. Classes are run from the Playhouse Theatre in Somerset West. I want every child to leave each class wanting to come back for more.

Turning Steps Studio has been running for 19 years. Julie will continue to teach at Attitudes School of Ballet with Ursula. Turning Steps Studio is committed to offering dancers of all ages an encouraging environment where dancers are given the opportunity to grow and excel in their dance education. We believe that dancers should strive towards the love of dance by exploring music and movement within a professional and loving setting. We have fun and laugh, but we also expect our dancers to work hard to create a world of values, dedication, creativity, discipline and a sense of personal achievement. Our purpose is to maintain the highest standards of dance training for the all the dance disciplines that we offer. We, the teachers are passionate about our professional development courses and workshops that we attend in order to keep learning and expanding our knowledge of the dance world. To continue being a successful and well respected dance institution. We are committed to training our dancers to ensure high quality technique and performance abilities, while allowing the individual dancer to embrace their unique gifts and talents. Our aspiration is to prepare dance students to engage in dance, theatre and musical appreciation throughout their lives. We started out exclusively as a ballet studio in We have a passion for dance and music and welcome all ages and levels to our studio. There are now 3 branches under the Turning Steps umbrella. From Frank Sinatra to Michael Buble, this class promises a good time! Our Dance for Parkinson’s classes are about movement and music. These classes are designed to enhance the well being and quality of life for those with Parkinson’s and their support bases. To help realise our ambitious goal of helping as many people as possible through our Dance for Parkinson's program, we've launched a fundraising campaign on the leading South African Fundraising platform called THUNDAFUND.
