Vision Child and Youth Care Centre provides for the destitute, abused, neglected and abandoned children as well as orphans, and was established in 1991.
At present we accommodate 48 residents of whom 4 are at creche, 6 in grade R, 21 at primary school, 10 at high school, 3 at Hifz school, 3 at college and 1 apprentice.
We provide a home for the destitute, abused, neglected and abandoned children as well as orphans, and was established in 1991.
We endeavour to offer the least restrictive setting for these children who have been placed with us by the courts or private placements because of the inadequacy of a complete breakdown in the primary care environment.
Please feel free to visit us at any time in order for you to see first hand what our organisation is all about and meet the staff and residents.

Vision Child & Youth Care Centre was founded by a Community Worker Sadique Jacobs and his wife Suraya Jacobs, a care worker with vast experience in working with children and youth. Today Sadique and Suraya are assisted by a staff of 7, comprising of care givers, a social worker, administrative staff, domestic workers and assistants. This year was yet another mile stone for the Vision Advertiser. It was the year that our size A5 magazine received its first front and back covers in full colours and in high gloss. What was so special is that the full colour print was sponsored by a person who wishes to remain unanimous. Ever since this day, the Vision Advertiser covers has flourished in full colour printing. November Vision also celebrated two memorable occasions as two of three residents graduated from College of Cape Town. The proceeds will go towards the Vision building fund. January was not a good start of the year for Vision as the Vision Advertiser lost front page sponsor. Vision congratulate one of their long standing residents who came into care from grade one. He was indeed an inspiration to many other residents and surely made us proud. It really inspired the Vision staff and management to see how supportive the Cape Town public are. The management of Vision immediately decided to start a building fund with the said amount. Thereafter an extensive fundraising started and soon plans were drawn up to extend the Vision Children’s Home at the cost of 1.6 million rand. It was extremely difficult to trace the donor as not much of his details were disclosed. Vision also had its first fundraising event in form of a variety show at the Darul Islam Islamic High School Hall. Sponsorship for this event was well supported by the community and most of the performing artist performed at no charge. Another mile stone was reached and this time one of our 19 year old residents Mariam Ngoyi became the first ever resident to enter University to study events management. This was the year that Vision Management decided to have the Monthly Vision Advertiser printed in a size A4 Magazine and with some full colour pages in the middle. This idea was well received by the Vision Advertiser readers and many words of encouragement and compliments were received throughout the country. This was also the year that we had our first High Tea fundraiser. Vision then for the first time looked like a Nursery with the many expensive diapers chewing our monthly budget to the bone. By the end of the year a record number of 34 residents were on the Vision Roster. At the time their eldest brother was 14 and he experienced his first fast in the holy month of Ramadaan. He explained how happy he was to be at Vision, as this changed their lives dramatically. The siblings also never received Islamic Education before and were very excited to learn about Islam. This year our Vision Advertiser drastically increased its number of advertisers. By so doing the Vision budget was reduced with the profits are going towards the maintenance and upkeep of the home. What is so inspiring is that the Vision Residents are so committed and passionate about remembering Allah. Ismail immediately underwent heart surgery after it was established that he is a major risk factor for Ischaemic Heart Disease. It was also recognised that his family has a history of Coronary Artery Disease. He spent six weeks in hospital and later in the same year went on tour to Malaysia with the Islamia College u/15 Rugby team.
