In 1996 and two years into Executive Talenting’s 8-year tenure with Deloitte, we assisted Deloitte Consulting in making key university appointments after they had completed rigorous interventions to restructure some troubled universities. Nine years down the track (2005) and three years after breaking from Deloitte, demand for top academics and university support management was so high that we decided to create the stand alone Brand of Academic Partners and specialise in this niche market. Through osmotic referrals, our client base is forever growing. All assignments are taken face-to-face, regardless of how well we know our client. Executive Partners advertises the position on the client’s behalf. To protect both our brand and that of our client’s ALL APPLICANTS ARE CORRESPONDED WITH. Due to the fact that the University market in Southern Africa is so small and because around 50%, of this market, are our clients, Search assignments will only be accepted by special arrangement and under certain conditions. Thirty years on, we still retain our engineering prowess, but have become the preferred Management and Executive suppliers in the fields of publishing, retail, financial services, shipping, fruit export, supply-chain and logistics, automotive (light commercial, trucking and special utility vehicles), numerous manufacturing enterprises, project management, top-end tourism, ink making and printing, accounting and auditing, dairy production and distribution and TV film productions. An eight year stint with Deloitte, which came to an end, as a result of Global SEC regulations imposed on global auditing firms, gave us great insight into many world-class best practices, especially in the area of assessing for top leadership. Because of the deliberate approach employed by Executive Partners, only retained, exclusive assignments are accepted. Search by Executive Partners is a discreet 4 month, highly interactive process between ourselves and our client, whereby potential industry sectors and known likely candidates are discussed and a specific strategy agreed. One-third of the fee, becomes due on being retained, one-third advanced on the production of a credible short list and a final one-third on placement.
